Story Sticks

Green Wood Coalition hosts an interactive workshop that draws on stories of the past and intentions for the future translating through a hands on activity using wood and yarns. No personal sharing necessary - everything is translated into art!
Festival Zine

Unleash your creativity as we come together to create a unique publication showcasing the diverse art, stories, and ideas of Cultivate Festival.. Connect with fellow artists, writers, and enthusiasts in an inspiring environment. No experience required.
Cultivate Your Shirt & Festival Decor
Join Folk Camp and Cultivate your clothing with block prints of foraged plants and fungi on natural fabrics.
Bring your own clothing or fabric pieces (t-shirts, totes, scrap fabric) to print on or join us in printing on flags we’ll later sew together to make festival decoration.
Short order Poetry
4 - 6 p.m.
Hosted by Green Wood Coalition, this Cultivate Festival tradition is a novel way to make a collaborative poem. We’ll connect you with a poet who will write some original verse, prompted by a few broad questions and compose a poem that will be printed with a manual typewriter and provided to you, free of charge.

Walk the Land
11:30 - 1 p.m.
Guided walk on the land and along the trails with Blair Richards-Koeslag, aka “Lady Burdock”. Check out the flora and fungi underfoot, learn about how they cohabitate in their surroundings, and what they have to teach us.
Cultivate Comic Strip
12 - 1 p.m.
Join Clayton Hamner and help put together the first ever Cultivate comic strip! Clayton, (aka CTON) is an illustrator, educator and comic creator whose award-winning, energetic style has given him a surprisingly broad range of clients from The New York Times to National Geographic Kids. His comic strip, What a Hoot, is published in OWL Magazine!

Festival Flags & Banners
1:30 - 3 p.m.
Join the Folk Camp community in crafting cheerful festive bunting and banners from the block prints participants made the previous day. We’ll be arranging and sewing the flags onto ribbon tape and decorating large banners with appliqued fabrics.
